Climate and Nature Finance in the Global South: showcasing initiatives for scale (BNDES)
- Climate Finance
- IDFC member event
- Panel
Analyze climate and biodiversity finance strategies for mobilizing funds to developing countries. Well-designed climate and biodiversity finance mechanisms (such as the Climate Fund and the Amazon Fund in Brazil), can catalyze investments and drive economic development while addressing inequalities. Multilateral organizations, development banks and global green funds are key to raising funds and strengthening partnerships in climate and biodiversity finance for the Global South.
BNDES and the Brazilian Ministry of Environment and Climate Change can showcase the financing model of Brazilian Climate Fund and of the Amazon Fund, while supported intitutions in the climate and biosiversity sectors (including blue economy) as well as technical experts could provide additional perspective on challenges and solutions in the sectors in the Global South, exploring how models could be replicated.
