Expected outcome: Putting the IDFC Biodiversity Position Paper into action: concrete steps and ways of implementation

With the intervention of Prof. Dr. Johan Rockström, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)

 

Prof. Dr. Johan Rockström is currently working in the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) as Director. He is also  Chef Scientist at Conservation international and Professor in Earth System Science at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Science at Potsdam University, as well as in the Water Systems and Global Sustainability at Stockholm University. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Objective of the session:

·       To explore the double crisis of biodiversity loss and climate change, the consequences for the economic and financial sectors, the responsibility of financial institutions regarding these crises, and the way to align their financial flows

·       To analyze the consequences of international policy frameworks (such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework) on the financial and economic sectors,

·       To reflect the current landscape on biodiversity and finance: consolidate the knowledge and understanding of biodiversity-related risks and the relevant tools, frameworks and standards,

·       To encourage IDFC members to put the IDFC Biodiversity Paper into action, and to engage more in the Biodiversity working group.
