Philanthropy – Bridging the Financial Gap for Climate Equity

Amongst the participants, representatives of the philanthropic world namely: the (Bill & Melinda Gates, Children Investment Fund Foundation, Bankers without Borders, UNICEF , Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
This multi-stakeholder engagement strategy for climate and biodiversity is driven by the IDFC Co-Chairs ambitions to rally more support for the IDFC Facility to ensure co-creation, collaboration, and acceleration to unlock solutions and drive bolder results.
Hosting the event in parallel with the African Development Bank Annual meeting, the IDFC Co-Chairs are determined to close the climate finance gaps and accelerate climate action through cross-sectoral partnerships and collaboration.
The side-event presented key climate priorities related to the IDFC climate Action Agenda which includes:

- fast-tracking a just and orderly energy transition
- fixing climate finance
- putting nature, lives and livelihoods at the heart of climate action and underpinning everything with full inclusivity
Indicative support from Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) , the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, UNICEF, Bankers without Borders and the FiCS Lab was mostly appreciated.
